Arrival at birth
The maternity ward of Viljandi Hospital is located in Tervikum. The maternity ward can be accessed via the emergency department (ED). The entrance to the ED is located on the Jakobson Street side of Tervikum.
What to bring to the hospital?
- a pregnancy card (and a yellow blood card with your blood group and thirst factor).
- identity document
- a change of footwear (slippers, blouses)
- sanitary towels for the postnatal period
- mesh underwear for postnatal sanitary napkins/diapers.
- supportive and cotton bras
- comfortable clothing if desired (the hospital provides a nightgown and dressing gown for the deliverer)
- personal hygiene items
- meals and drinks (fruit, muesli, yoghurt) to suit your taste
- electronics (camera, laptop) on request
- phone charger
- personal medication
The child will have everything he/she needs from the hospital (clothes, nappies, etc.). Please bring the child’s clothes for going home according to the time of year:
- in summer – body, shorts, jacket, hat, socks, gloves.
- in winter – body, ski pants, jacket, hat, socks, gloves, warmer hat and thicker overalls.
