Executive Board

The foundation’s Executive Board manages and represents the foundation, following the legal directives of the foundation’s Supervisory Board, and is responsible for the foundation’s activities. To fulfill its duties, the Executive Board makes decisions. The Foundation’s Board of Trustees elects, appoints, enters into an employment contract with, and dismisses members of the Executive Board. The term of office for a member of the Executive Board is 5 years.

Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees plans the foundation’s activities, organizes its management, and supervises the activities of the foundation and the Executive Board.
The Minister of Social Affairs appoints and dismisses members of the Board of Trustees and determines the amount of compensation paid to them. The amount of compensation for Board members is determined in accordance with applicable laws.
As of November 1, 2023, the Board of the Viljandi Hospital Foundation consists of four members:

  • Board Chair Maarjo Mändmaa – Chancellor of the Ministry of Social Affairs
  • Board Member Siiri Tõniste – Director of the Financial Services Policy Department at the Ministry of Finance
  • Board Member Linda Jürisson – former specialized nurse, including home care nurse
  • Board Member Johan-Kristjan Konovalov – Member of the Viljandi City Council

Audit Committee

The Audit Committee of SA Viljandi Hospital is an advisory body established by the hospital’s Board of Directors. The Audit Committee’s task is to oversee auditing, risk management, internal control, and the legality of supervision and budget preparation. The Audit Committee consists of three members, at least one of whom is a member of the Board of Trustees.
The Audit Committee members are:

  • Audit Committee Chair Linda Jürisson – Board member, former specialized nurse, including home care nurse (e-mail linda.jurisson@gmail.com)
  • Audit Committee Member Merike Veiber – Certified Public Auditor for the public sector at Revisor OÜ
  • Audit Committee Member Siiri Tõniste – Member of the Board, Head of the Financial Services Policy Department at the Ministry of Finance
