Starting April 1, 2025, the bed-day fee at Viljandi Hospital is 5 euros for each calendar day of hospitalization, up to a maximum of 10 bed days per medical case.
The bed-day fee is not charged:
- to minors (i.e., patients under 18 years of age);
- for inpatient specialist care related to pregnancy and childbirth;
- for the duration of intensive care;
- from the caregiver of a child up to 9 years of age (inclusive) who is undergoing treatment (e.g., mother or father, etc.)
- from patients in the tuberculosis treatment unit;
- from patients receiving involuntary psychiatric treatment.
For patients transferred directly from acute care to nursing care at Viljandi Hospital, the days spent in acute care and nursing care are combined, and the bed-day fee is calculated as a total for up to ten days.
The bed-day fee is charged upon the completion of the patient’s inpatient treatment in the respective department or unit. To this end, the patient is informed of the invoice amount, the payment method is agreed upon, and an invoice for the daily bed fee is generated for the patient in the hospital’s information system. The patient pays the bed-day fee in cash, by card, or via bank transfer.
