Principles for the Processing of Personal Data by the Viljandi Hospital Foundation

Everything related to a person and his or her being can be described as data. Examples of an individual’s personal data include their name, personal identification number, home address, contact details, location information, financial information, credit card details, etc. Personal data is collected in accordance with the law. It also includes physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural and any other identifiable characteristics of an individual, and combinations thereof. In addition, personal data also include data which are by their very nature highly sensitive, i.e. a special category of personal data, such as personal health data.

The protection of the personal data of patients and visitors to the hospital is important to Viljandi Hospital, and we make every effort to protect personal data in the best possible way and to implement best practices in the field of personal data processing, ensuring that personal data are processed in accordance with the law.
