The Women’s Clinic offers modern and professional services in the fields of gynecology and obstetrics. The clinic provides assistance and support in planning a pregnancy, becoming a mother, and addressing various women’s health concerns.

The maternity ward has two delivery rooms, one of which is equipped with a birthing tub. Private single and double rooms, as well as three modern family rooms, are available for new mothers.

The Women’s Clinic also offers expectant mothers the services of a personal midwife, various options for pain relief during labor in collaboration with anesthesiologists (paracervical block, minispinal anesthesia, epidural anesthesia), and—starting in the fall of 2025—free “Family School” lectures in collaboration with Perepesa.

Admission to the maternity ward is available 24 hours a day; entry is through the Emergency Medicine Department (ED). A gynecologist is also on call around the clock.

A birth certificate is issued upon presentation of a valid ID.

All women are welcome to give birth here, regardless of where they live!

The Women’s Clinic at Viljandi Hospital provides surgical care using both laparoscopic techniques and open abdominal surgery. In addition, many procedures are performed on an outpatient basis. These include abortions, a large number of which are now performed medically to reduce the risk of complications.

As part of a comprehensive service, the Women’s Clinic, in collaboration with a urogynecologist, midwives, and physical therapists, offers urogynecological care to patients experiencing involuntary urinary leakage, difficulties with urination, bowel emptying, or pelvic organ prolapse; patients who use assistive devices (e.g., a vaginal ring); and patients requiring postoperative follow-up.
